Marching Around in Silence
By faith the walls of Jericho fell down after they were encircled for seven days. Hebrews 11:30
Have you ever been tried to sneak through a room without making a noise? It can be really hard, right? Can you imagine marching around a giant city in complete silence for six days? Well, that’s exactly what God told Joshua and the Israelites to do around Jericho. They weren’t allowed to talk, plan, or discuss—just quietly walk and trust God! That must have felt so strange! But Joshua and the Israelites obeyed God, and on the seventh day when they finally were allowed to shout, those huge walls came crashing down!
Sometimes God wants us to be quiet and just trust Him. Our world is so LOUD—TVs, phones, music, and people talking all the time! But when you take time to be quiet with God without any distractions—just you and Him—He can teach you amazing things!
Being quiet with God is like pressing the pause button on a video game. It gives you time to think, pray, and listen to what God wants to tell you!
Take Action: Try the “Quiet Time Challenge”! Pick a time today when you can be completely quiet for 5 minutes. No TV, no phone, no talking—just sit quietly and think about God. You can pray or just think about how awesome He is. It might feel weird at first, but give it a try!
