Run Toward God
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34:17
When something goes wrong, which way do you run? When trouble comes, we can either run away from God or run toward God. Here’s something to remember: the trouble itself doesn’t decide which way you run—you do!
Some people get upset at God when hard things happen. They think, Why did You let this happen? and they run away from Him. But other people do the opposite. They run straight into God’s arms for help and comfort. The Bible says, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you” (James 4:8). That’s amazing! When you move toward God, He moves toward you!
The Bible also says instead of worrying about everything, we can bring all our troubles to God in prayer and tell Him “thank You” even in the hard parts. When we do that, God gives us a peace that’s hard to explain—a calm, settled feeling deep in our hearts, even when things around us are messy.
Think About It: When something goes wrong in your day, which direction do you usually run: toward God or away from Him? It’s easy to get grumpy and pull away when we’re upset. But God wants to be the very first place you run when trouble comes! Next time you’re having a hard day, try running toward Him in prayer instead. In God’s presence, you’ll find the peace and help you need.

PARTNER WITH us

As a father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, the importance of family has always been a core value in my life. I have been a pastor for decades, watching families grow and generation after generation come up in faith. That is why Bible Strong Kids is so important to me. What better legacy to leave for our children and grandchildren than to raise them up in faith, strengthening them for the journey ahead all the way into adulthood?
I hope you will join us in this endeavor to create the next generation of Bible Strong Kids—children who know their worth in God’s eyes and are equipped to shine His light in an increasingly dark world.
